Banish Misfortune play Irish traditional music, chiefly dance tunes such as jigs, reels, hornpipes and polkas, but also including beautiful airs and songs in English and Irish. All the musicians have been steeped in this music for many years and perform to a high standard. Since meeting a few years ago at the annual Rencontres Musicales Irlandaises trad festival at Tocane-Saint-Apre in Dordogne, they have played at many weddings, dances and other celebrations and special events.
The group is available in a three-piece (banjo/guitar/vocal, fiddle, accordeon/whistle), four-piece (plus bodhrán/mandolin) or five-piece formation (plus bouzouki/mandolin), and performs in Dordogne and surrounding departments.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch for further information or if you would like us to play at your wedding. Thank you.
